Hey everyone! I'm reading about the heating pad idea and I think it's a great thought. I have a tip for anyone who can sew a button on a shirt. If you take cotton fabric, and make a pillow about 11"x11", leaving a small opening and fill it with 2lbs of uncooked white rice(which is something we won't be eating after our surgery-Yeah!), then stitch it closed. You have a great "heating pad" after 2-3 min in the microwave. It will lay close to the body and keeps hot for a long time. Be careful if it gets too hot because it can cause burns, but nuke it for just 2 min and add 30 seconds at a time to get the right temp. Hope this helps anyone get rid of the last white rice you might have around.

Scout-Best wishes and many prayers for Monday. God will guide.

I'm the same as you. My surgery was on the 8th. My meds are hard to get down. I'll cut some in 1/2 and some in 1/4. and they still get stuck, last night one was stuck for 4 hours. I drank hot Water, ate jell-o and nothing happened. It finally dissolved itself. I hate the natural Protein that I purchased at GNC; it tastes terrible with anything I put it in. So yesterday (bad bad) I only had about 4 grams of protein avoiding the scoups. This morning I made one scrambled egg with 2 oz of cheese melted on top and was able to swallow my pills. It totaled 19 grs. of protein. Later today I'll have my Protein Shake, already flavored and I think I'll add 1/2 of a banana. Yesterday I ate 1/2 cup broth and added some mashed potatoes to it and it filled me up. The potatoes just made it a little thicker, but still liquid.< /p>

Hi All,

Well, today I am 11 days post op and I feel pretty close to "back to my old self" - minus 29 pounds of course!

My incisions have stopped hurting and I can even bend over and pick up my husband and sons socks which they constantly leave laying around with out any port pain.

Her is the confessions part: I totally cheated yesterday. I am usually pretty careful to follow doctors orders, but, I had some foods yesterday that, while I tried really hard, I really couldn't even call them mushies. I had about 3/4 of a cup of Pasta (DH's restaurant leftovers) for lunch and then the chili I intended to thin and blend up for dinner went from the microwave to my mouth.

Luckly, I had no problems. I was pretty digusted with myself last night when I went to bed. I did get a visit from "Aunt Flo" this morning and that explained a lot. My willpower was no match for pms hunger! Today, I am actually grateful that I had my band. Prebanded, I would have consumed 5x that much pasta and chili the day before my period plus much, much more.

Anyway, today I am back to liquids and am determined to stay on them for the next 9 days. OH I CAN"T WAIT FOR MUSHIES!!!!!!!!!:hungry:

OMG - A friend, banded last year, after hearing about my horrible slip up yesterday brought me some homemade pumpkin Soup. It is in a word, ...I can't even think of a word...beyone deliscious...beyond savory.

I will definately post the recipe once she sends it to me!

So...(slurps), back to my soup:hungry:

Hi, Kim

Physically I'm good. My problem is I'm always full. It's difficult to get 64 oz of Water in all day. Sometimes my medications get stuck even if some are in 1/2 and others are 1/4 cuts. So far today I've had 1 scrambled egg with 2oz cheese melted = 19 grams of Protein, 1 protein shake=20 grams protein and 32 oz of tea. I'm sooooooooo full. took my calicum, Vitamins and blood pressure pill....can't seem to take the others 6 that are all cut in halves. One got stuck and I took hot water and jell-o and they finally disolved after 4 hours.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
