I feel so sad!!!

I'm not sure what a hiatal hernia has to do with the band? A band won't fix a hernia and the hernia would have to be fixed regardless of the band.

Yes how was insurance going to pay? Just curious?

hmmm. seems odd to me too. My Dr. didn't know I had a hernia until he did the surgery. Same thing with my brother. But seems odd they'd pay for the band if you had a hernia?

very odd to say the least. Please give us more information.....

Her insurance would have covered the hernia surgery, and she would have had to pay just for the ban only and not the surgery cost.

Basically, her insurance doesn't cover the lap band, but if she had hiatial hernia it would cover the surgery and dr would have added the lap band. So instead of paying 10k for the lap ban surgery she would have paid $5500 just for the band.

So sorry to hear that! Look into financing it.

Yes thank you for explaining ...... I feel so depressed :(

So sorry to hear this!!

wow!!!!!! i'm sorry to hear that because sadly I am in the same situation I haven't had my test done yet, but I am praying that I have one. But either way I am going to have it done, but it will be sooo much better if I do have the hernia. Where were/are you having your surgery?

I never knew that... hope all goes well for you!

Im using Dr Reilly True Results

Do the payment plan. Look at this way...once you get a lap band your food expense will be low and that contribute to the monthly payments.

news to me..see you learn something new every day

Also, I am very sorry to hear this is not very good news for you, I hope you can find another way ....

Where there's a will, there's a way. There's nothing more important than your health, so I would find anyway to pay for or finance the surgery.
