New To This Website, Just Got My Lapband On Tuesday 8/28/12

Hi everyone, my name is Cindy. I'm 31yrs old from Newark NJ. I really don't know what to say on this but I just got my lapband & so far I didn't expect my stomach to be in pain but luckily I'm taking the pain medication doctors prescribed for me which is helping me out alot. Nurses say the pain is normal because I have five holes in my stomach. My goal is to lose 150lbs, let's hope in due time it gets accomplished. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

HI thank you so much for welcoming me... I am excited I got this done and am looking forward to losing the weight. I plan to exercise next week, I'm still very sore and have the tapes on my stomach, I don't want to sweat and break out in a rash or anything but I'm sure I will be better next week. Thats when I will start moving around. Thank you again and keep in touch =)

Hi Cindy, my name is Lela. I got banded on the 23rd of Aug also. I am still in a little pain but gets better everyday. I am grateful for my little pillow. I only have one spot that is painful. I think it might be where my port is. Now that I am starting to feel better I am getting excited again.

Hello Mz Thang,

I just got banded this past Tuesday & when I woke up. My stomach was in so much pain & my mouth was sooooo dry! I was extremely thirsty!! I was only able to intake very little bit of water once an hr.. just make sure you have the prescription medications they came you. Take them as doctor directed them for pain... But so far my recovery is going well... Recovery will take time. Remember that.

Thanks ;)

My starting weight is 300lbs

My goal is 150lbs

I'm currently at 280lbs

I'm 5'1ft tall...

This is going to be a long process but I have faith that I will reach my goal one day :-)

Hi there

I was banded on 16 Aug so im 3 weeks post op....all advise i can give so far is LISTEN to your doc or dietician and do not push to go onto solids - the longer you are on liquids the more you lose.

That was the best advice you could give. Well said! "Listen to your Dr or dietician".

Congratulations on starting your new journey everyone!!!!
