Hi everyone, my name is Cindy. I'm 31yrs old from Newark NJ. I really don't know what to say on this but I just got my lapband & so far I didn't expect my stomach to be in pain but luckily I'm taking the pain medication doctors prescribed for me which is helping me out alot. Nurses say the pain is normal because I have five holes in my stomach. My goal is to lose 150lbs, let's hope in due time it gets accomplished. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome all you newbies! Congrats on entering your new life. Remember to be patient. You didn't gain the weight overnight therefore you will not loose it overnight. The band is a fabulous tool and will assist you IF you follow the bandster lifestyle. Keep coming back to LBT....the support here is irreplaceable!

Welcome Cindy! I am new too! Just got banded yesterday. I have five incisions also. Sore, especially where the port is, but taking pain meds as prescribed and getting very excited for what lies ahead. We are all here to support each other, and as you can see, it is at your fingertips whenever you need it! I am excited about that too! Good luck! Let's keep in touch about our progress!

That's great! I'm happy for you! I am four days post op, and still having some pain/discomfort on my right side where the port was placed. There is some bruising there, but no redness or evidence of infection, so I think it's just a matter of time before the discomfort disappears. How are you doing on the post op liquid diet? I've found that it's getting easier. I'm not craving foods that way I was in the beginning.

I'm now able to eat soft foods and I really don't have an appetite or craving for anything. I do try to eat at least three meals or ensure I have a Low Carb Slim Fast or protein shake to replace a meal. So far there is no struggle, even with cooking for the family. My port is on my left side so of course I still have a little discomfort on that side. I am excited for the day i can lie on my belly!

I find myself doing a LOT of walking and when I don't get it in, I don't feel right. I'm actually enjoying losing weight and working out now more than ever before. It also helps to have a forum such as this with so many individuals that keep you encouraged.

Hi everyone I was banded on the 30/8 and am very excited, things are going really well for me, the cut by the port is really sore but can now sleep on my stomach I am having my first fill on 24/9 and can not wait. I am loving my journey so far. Best of luck to all I am sure we will all keep in touch.

I got my surgery at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.

My surgeon was supposed to be Dr. Stefanie Vaimakis, but she was away on vacation & couldn't make it back on time so her partner doctor, Dr. Fred Silvestri along with another doctor (forgot his name) did my surgery.

All is well with me.
