That happens, in fact it happened to me the first time I hit the Green Zone too. I was great then about 4 weeks later I was hungry again. It's not uncommon at all.

When you go for your next fill, be sure to get a relatively small amount. You're obviously right there on the edge of the Green Zone and I fear if you got too big a fill you'd blow right past the Green Zone and into too tight.

Well, I never expect to get full. That feeling is long gone. But what I have found helped was adding a 4th meal. Sometimes I will eat my lunch as early as 10:30 or 11 if I am really hungry. Then again around 2 and then dinner a few hours later.

I was not hungry at all the month of July, actually I think the band was a little tight. Now, I'm like you and hungry most all of the time. I even wake up in the middle of the night hungry! I go to the doc next week, but am only going to ask for a small fill.

Well, I think I've hit the "zone"....but there are days I just don't know. I can feel full one day and starving the next. I find on days I'm "starving" I can eat anything and the next day I can't even do a scrambled egg without getting the hiccups and feeling like I'm going to throw it up. Believe me, I've throw up things I've normally had been able to eat.

I'll admit, I've had my downfalls in the last month...cheating, bad food choices or celebrating life's events a little too much. I've moved around the same 8 pounds...up, down, up, down...now down again. My last fill did bring me tight. I've thrown up more, had more hiccips, but I've also felt really good. I think I've enjoyed my time with my kids this month and in a week, I'm heading to the gym...into the pool (now that I've also had my hip replaced) and I can finally move...and move this weight off me. I don't think another fill will help me....I need to help me.

3 fills down

65 pounds lost

(I guess I need one of those ticker things...)another 65 to go!

I am 4 weeks post op this week, I have not lost anything. I go for my first fill on the 6th. But I feel hungry and before you know it I am looking for something to eat, I feel like I am slipping backwards. The more hungry I get the less I pay attention to what and how I eat. Good news is I haven't gained anything either! Any advice on this?

Can some one please explain the "green zone" to me?

The green zone is where your band is adjusted correctly. You can eat 3-4 oz of solid Protein & 3-4 oz of veggies and keep it down. You feel satisfied not stuffed. You don't feel hungry for 3-4 hours.

I was banded on 8/14 and for the first 3-4 days I wasn't even hungry. I started getting hungry and by day 7 I attempted smooth foods and when I went in for my follow up I explained to the doctor that I had already started eating but was getting full after around 1/2 cup. He said that was perfect and I set an appt for 4 wks later for a fill if needed.

Since coming home I can't seem to eat enough and dont feel any restriction in the band. I am so upset and disgusted with myself. I seem to be able to eat anything and everything without any problem.

I haven't had carbonation or caffeine. I am doing pretty well with not eating and drinking at the same time....

I just need some feedback! I have been putting my intake into myfitnesspal and use TampaGina as my username.

Please add me and if you have any suggestions let me know!

Good luck everyone!

That works for me as well an additional meal if needed its not much more than I would eat anyway in a full day so it must be ok it seem!s to work though

You have only been banded for 13 days! I didn't feel restriction for a long time, prob at one year being banded. Just give it time. And I have realized that for me, it is not about restriction. I can eat pretty much anything except for snap peas and snow peas. I have had my band tighten up a few times and that's when I realized that I don't want to limited on what I can eat. I just eat smaller portions of things that I still enjoy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
