Is Everyone On Vacation?

Recommended Posts

Hello May Bandsters. I haven't posted in a while but neither has anyone else! I'd like to provide an update on me and find out how everyone else is doing.

I had my first fill on July 24 and all it has done for me is ensure that I have stuck episodes if I eat slightly larger bites and eat too quickly. I am mostly keeping the portion size to 1 cup, including around 4 oz of Protein but I have not lost any weight since mid June. I have yet to figure out how to work exercise into my schedule but I realize that is necessary for success. I've been to the pool and can swim 6 lengths in a row but have not tried to get on a regular schedule - yes, this is an excuse. Still, I hope to get more of a fill at my next appointment on August 24. So far I'm at 4.2 cc in a 14 cc band.

How are you all doing? Let's re-invigorate the May 2012 part of this website!

Sit down with your nutritionist and he/she can find why you aren't losing. Exercise is important but this is simple math. Burn more calories than you eat and you'll lose weight. Exercise will help you lose maybe 1-3 lbs more a month depending on how hard you exercise and how many calories you consume. I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and then nada for the next 3.5 months. My nutritionist pointed out some ways I could eliminate about 300 calories a day and I got my 3rd fill the same day. I started losing almost immediately.

It's so funny how things can change! I was stuck at 245 with the first fill and wanted more fill. I did get another fill August 28 (misremembered the date before) for 6.2 cc in a 14 cc band and the first few days were very tough with a lot of sliming, some PB, general difficulty getting much of anything down. I stepped back, worked on eating smaller bites and taking my time. Meanwhile, I dropped another 15 pounds and things have pretty much settled down for me. I don't have another appointment till mid-Oct and if things continue the way they are I don't think I'll need another fill. I started a post in the Fill category but moved it to the success stories area instead! Thanks for the encouragement.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
