hell all!

Tomorrow is my last day band free! I am very excited, yet super nervous at the same time! I know this is the right decision and I'm proud of myself for realizing that, but of course there are always small worries at the back of your mind. My doctor prescribed me xanax for the morning of because I know I'm going to have the butterflies terribly. I was wondering if any of you had the same issue and if the xanax actually helped?

Good Luck to you! Tomorrow is my last day band free too! Going in 7:30 am Wednesday. I am hoping to get some kind of relaxation help as well... I'm sure the nervous will trump the excitment the morning of surgery!

Best wishes to all upcoming Band Dates. Just follow doctors orders prior to surgery. After my band date on Aug 6, they fed me a meal. Veggie Soup, hot Decaf tes, and Crystal light lemonade with Protein. IT was tasty and I was ready for a meal. Most of us have to just have clear day before surgery, and no aspirin, motrin/aleeve 10 days from surgery.

I'm 2 days now in post=op and other than a sore bellybutton area all is well. If the doctor gave you pain medicine or a prescription, have the nurses at hospital FAX it to your drugstore. This way it will be ready and if its been close to 4 hours from last time the hospital gave pain meds after surgery, have your pain med ready. This way you will sleep, thank the Lord and have a restful sleep with NO pain/discomfort. And remember the ehating pad does work for any should blade aches/pain. SIP SIP SIP not chug a large glass of Water like before surgery. Drink it in 2-3oz at a time.

Good luck and Prayers for your speedy recovery

Congratulations to all of you on your decision work towards healthier and happier lives! I was banded a year ago in April. I went in for surgery at 9:30 and my mom went in at 11:30. We BOTH took Xanax before leaving the house due to the fact that we are both extremely anxious. She had had other surgeries in the past and was not nearly as, "crazy," as I was (it was my first surgery). Needless to say I was shaking and nauseous until just before they took me back and gave me their own, "happy," medicine. When they gave me that my anxiety was GONE. At that point I was ready to fall asleep, once they rolled me in the OR, they hooked me up to anesthesia and one of the nurses said, "have a nice na---," and I was out before she could finish her sentence and the next thing I knew I was waking up! To this day I swear it was the best sleep I have ever gotten lol. And quite honestly, the worst parts for me where getting my belly button cleaned for sterilization purposes (yuck!) and getting my IV put in (I hate needles)! Anyway, I wish you all the best of luck - you will be fine! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
