I meant to ask my surgeon, but I forgot. I am really curious though. My card that the surgeon gave me after lapband says "MRI conditional". I don't know what that means, or how it affects my life. I wanted to do an fMRI research study as a subject to get an extra $300 and postponed it til after the band, because with all the Dr's appointments prior I didn't have a full day to dedicate to the study away from work. I am nervous now that I can't participate because of this "conditional". Anyone else ask their doctor about it???

This peaked my curiosity so I did a little research. From what I've found, there shouldn't be any reason why you can't have an MRI. Nothing in the band set-up should react with the magnet of the MRI. As always though, check with your surgeon. There's a reason they put it on the card.

So I asked my surgeon and he said at over 3.0 tesla (which is uncommonly used for humans) that I might feel some warmness or burning and I should stop the mri. I work with mri though and just wanted to know what to expect. He said I should be fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
