I just had my second fill and im ticked off and not sure i should be. they use the flora. when i was being sat up in the chair after the needle was inserted I felt a pop. the girl got a discussed look on her face and said it popped out...the assisstant looked surprised. i said "hey that feels wierd what happend? I got completly ignored after that and she put me half way back down to adjust i guess, she held onto the needle, I was then sat back up and she did the fill. I felt it. not pain but. exactly like when i was pregnat 22 years ago and the baby kicked. I commented that this was totaly differant then the first time. she did not reply. All the way home I thought to myself, does this happen alot. could i get punctured inside? I have only had one fill and it was really great, just no restriction for more than a week. This lady did not ask how the past three weeks had been and if I hadn't asked she wouldnt even of told me what she had put in. Im disscussed and will request she not do my fill again. has this happen to others? wondering????

YES, Both times I was moved back in a recliner type chair for the insertion and sat up to drink the chalk and for the fill. I saw a photo of another clinic and it looked like standing was how it was done. because this is so new to me and my self paid package is for all the fills I need for three years, I have no where else to go.

Anyone else have this type of fill clinic?

Well, the way mine are done is I lay on the table under the flouro thing and they insert needle. I then just tip my head up a bit or sideways and sip through a straw... I don't sit or stand until everything is done and the needle is out.

My dr said he has his patients sit up while he does the fill. I think he said you drink Water slowly while he does the fill so you can guage when it is tight, or too tight. He said he is pretty agressive with his fills so his patients get to the sweet spot quicker.

He also said sitting up is a more natural way because fluids flow better when your sitting up and you can get a better reaction. I dont know that is what he said .

I cant wait till I get one.

I get my fills standing and with flouro. It's cool to see the underwires of my bra and the hooks, etc in the x-ray.

But I digress...while I lay down you can't feel my port so they have me stand. It taks a good bit of manipulating it to get it in the right position to be filled too.

Interesting huh?

LilMiss- I am feeling great. I was lucky not to have any gas pains and almost no other pain. The eatting is weird for me. I forgot I was not suposed to eat solids in the grocery store, I grabbed a slice of apple they were handing out and just poped it in my mouth and didnt think about it till I swallowed half of it. I freaked out and called my dr. he laughed at me and told me that I have to think now before putting things in my mouth. lol. We are going to do an x-ray when I see him for my follow up. he didnt seem too concerned but he did tell me not to do it again. at least till I can have that type of food.< /p>

I get my fills w/floro... I lay on a table, they insert needle, and the table is moved to a standing position... I don't sit up/fold in the middle... then they give the fill while watching, and I sip barium between any adjustment. Sounds weird to me to have someone move so much with a needle placed.

A STRAW!!! TOO MUCH AIR!!!

Just kidding'

Pish posh. Who swallows air? I was never told to not drink through a straw... and I will not give it up. I can't stand to drink anything without a straw!!! I have this weird OCD thing about touching my mouth to a cup... yes, I'm weird. oh well.

Sounds like there are several ways to get the fill. Has anyone ever had it pop out of the port while inside????? That is what bothers me the most.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
