Colonoscopy Prep?

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I'm getting banded on 8/13 (yeahhhhhh!) and have a quick question. How the heck do you do the prep for a colonoscopy once banded. I mean, you have to drink so much in such a small amount of time. I remember having to guzzle glass after glass of liquid. Has anyone here dealt with that one yet. I mean, we all have to go through it, just how?

You can still drink after you are banded. So long as you remember to breath in-between swallows you will be fine. I had to drink 2 glasses of horrible licorice flavoured goo before having a CT scan and that was just minutes after having a partial unfill under flouro as I had a major blockage. It tasted gross but it was easy enough to drink.

I was wondering the same thing. My doctor wants me to have a colonoscopy but the directions say a gallon of (nasty) liquid in a very short period of time - like 30-45 minutes. There is NO WAY. I take almost 15 minutes to drink a bottle of Water. So, for now, I have put the colonoscopy on the back burner - yes, I know that is a bad thing to do, but I am not going to have all the Fluid taken out of my band for a test. It took a year to get to this point. I can't wait to see if anyone had this test and was able to drink all that stuff.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
