How Can I Afford Plastic Surgery?

Recommended Posts

I am a grad student and don't have the kind of money it takes to have some of the surges I want and will need since I started at 388, I am now 319, and my goal is 175-200, I'm going to have excess skin, and I'm young and want children down the road, it's just so frustrating...

start saving now.

if you dont, you wont be any closer to it when you need it.

it will happen if you plan - just like being banded.

good luck!

Danielle I keep hearing references to this place but I don't know much. What did you have done there? And how big of a price difference is it?

You can go to their website cosmedclinic.com and do a virtual consult. You send your naked pics to them and the surgeon will personally call you. Prices vary depending on your procedures being done. I had inner thigh lift, Lipo and lower body lift (incision all the way around; Tummy Tuck, outer thigh lift and butt lift). My before and after pics are in another post...You might be able to click my profile and see if they are there. I paid about $8000 for all that. In the US...I think just a tummy tuck is about $8000!! So yes there is big price difference. Surgeon is also licensed in the US which came in handy when I needed more antibiotics. He called it into my pharmacy which was nice. I had a very good experience at this clinic and highly recommend it!!

I started in the 380's and am now at 210. I have little to no excess skin. Where I notice it the most is under my chin where I had multiple chins; and some bat wing underarms. All things considered though that's not that bad! And I'm 42.

I hope I have little to no excess skin like you! Do you use any lotions or special exercises?

Well I do A LOT of exercise. I started out doing Water based exercise (lap swimming and water aerobics) and once I had lost enough going on walks. Please note when I started I was getting injections to my right knee because I had pain so bad I could barely do my grocery shopping. Today I did a 6.5 mile walk at 3 miles and hour. To me that is the ultimate NSV. I'm doing 1-2+ hours cardio 7 days a week.

I had started lap swimming 2hrs every morning before my surgery. Got a severe ear infection and was even afraid of the shower. That is the best for me. Then I started walking 3miles every morning to compensate. For some reason I can't get past 1 mile now that i've had surgery. Im thinking it has something to do with this clear liquid diet. I think I need some Protein. Gonna push this weekend to make 3 miles again and maybe in 2 weeks I can be up to at least 5. Congrats and keep it up!

Danielle is right about quality surgeons in Mexico, but don't go for the lowest price because abdominoplasty is major surgery, so save your pennies and get a good doctor. Also check first to see if your insurance will pay.

Bat wing arms, hysterical! Check out www.creditcare.com. They covered everything that my insurance didn't. They also cover visits to the vet and laser hair removal! It's basically a credit card for health issues. It also has 0% to low interest if paid off within a certain time span. I only pay $75/month now. It's great! I'll be using it when I lose my last 25 lbs!

Danielle b- Can they do a Tummy Tuck with the hip to hip scar? How long did you have to stay in their hotel before returning?

I am not sure how they do their tummy tucks, as I had lower body lift. I stayed for 14 days, my choice. The rates for their recovery boutique were cheaper the longer you stayed. I paid $100/day that included all meals, Snacks, and 24 hour nurses.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
