Flying Rrght After A Fill?

Recommended Posts

There is a patient ID card you can get thru Allergan if you have the Lapband brand. It has your name, the name of your surgeon, and a patient Id #. I keep mine in my wallet behind my drivers license in case of an emergency. I think Relize has one too but I don't know for sure.

Hi everyone I lost 67 pounds since May 2010 have 30 more to go. Saw another doctor not the one I had do the surgery. He told me I should weigh 30 pounds lighter. I had a fill too tight hurt to eat meats and fruits. Went to have a fill to open my lapband. Now I can't seem to move the scale.< /p>

Always keep your appts for fills. I still think as a fat person, sometimes I eat wrong on the weekends(sweets). I feel proud of myself for losing dress sizes, I was a 24wide now I wear 12-14 size med-large tops. My behavior needs to change and I am going to exercise everyday.

I learn from my mistakes. Might have to get the lap band adjusted. I am going to try the special K diet using cereals, mealbars, snack bars and eat a light dinner. I went to the family doctor and receive B 12 shots, a diet and diet pills. I will get the 30 off, just have to try harder!

My Doctors told me to not travel until 2 weeks after a fill in case it kicks in later. If you get somewhere, have stress or weather change it can affect your band. You also risk having an ER visit where they will remove all your Fluid, if you end up in one that doesn't have bariatric docs on staff.

Flights have never been a problem with me! I hydrate and make sure to drink alot of Water on the plane. I have been through the full body scanners, down to the wands etc and nobody has ever commented on what do I have in my belly.

I have even gone skydiving up 13,500 feet in a cabin that was not pressurized and did not have any bad effects! Hope that helps!

My surgeon gave me a kit from lapband. You can register your band and they send you a card that says you are banded. Haven't used it yet, but apparently some places let

You buy off of the kids menu or pay a reduced fee at buffets.

Realize does have a card also, it just has your band serial number, the capacity, your surgeon and emergency contact info. Very handy to have.

I guess it's also comforting that if something tragic happens they could always ID me by my band serial number. Too many episodes of NCIS I guess :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
