Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Hi Everyone-

It has been on my mind lately to start a new post as a positive, motivational, and inspiring thread. I have noticed several threads lately where those considering surgery are asking if it is 'possible' to lose 100 pounds with the band. My answer to that is...Yes, it definitely is. Many say it is not realistic. But I have watched the amazing progress of LBT members on the board, and believe it is not only realistic, it is happening to many of our LBT members all around us. And for those that aren't quite there yet, many members are extremely close. As time goes by with lapband increasing in popularity and the number of LBT members growing everyday, I believe the list is only going to increase by leaps and bounds.

Any and all weight loss is a huge accomplishment for us all. While I realize that many members don't need to lose 100 pounds or more, many do. And for those who do, it offers not only motivation to see that other bandsters have done it...but most importantly it offers the hope that it can be done with the band!

This will be a running thread to offer positive motivation, inspiration, hope, and encouragement. Please PM me or post here to have your name added to the growing list when you hit 100 pounds lost, or if you want your amount lost updated. Congratulations to everyone on any and all weight loss!

Hey Guys!

Congratulations on the over 100lbs. lost to you all! I am so very close to 100lbs. and have stalled/plateaued in the last month or so. Takes about two or three weeks to lose 1 or 2lbs.

So....when you come this close how do you kick it into high gear to hit the mark. My goal is/was 100lbs by my 6 month Bandaversary. Any words of wisdom?

Cindy

Thanks Sue, for your kind words. Today I went to the dentist and got a custom tooth mold made and bought some teeth whitener stuff, so maybe I will settle for a blindingly white smile :crying:

Cindy,

It sounds like you have done great so far!!

I stalled at about 237 for about 3 weeks. I didn't really gain, but I was within the same 1 1/2 to 2 pounds and the scale just wouldn't budge downwards.

I just kept consistent with my eating and exercise plan and tried not to get discouraged. I "think" what is happening for me is that I lost a lot of weight and my body needed to adjust to that weight loss. I have since found in the last 3 months that I lose 8-12 pounds in about 2 or 3 weeks and then I will go about 2-3 weeks with no loss. It still averages out to a good weight loss every month.

I think even those of us with lots to lose have plateaus where our body needs to redistribute what is happening and for the water we lose to change to lost fat. It's frustrating, but just stick with it!!!

I have seen other people who post about changing their diet and/or exercise routine to mix up their bodies to jump start the weight loss. For example, if they have been eating 1000 calories a day, they eat 1500 for a day or two.

Good Luck!!!

Thanks JJ for your response. I am probably doing the same thing as you. I am still averaging between 8-10lbs. a month but stall for a few weeks at a time. I also go up and down by 1 or 2lbs but never higher than that. Case in point is this week. I haven't lost anything for 15 days and then boom today I drop 1lb. out of nowhere. I am not discouraged because I think that my weightloss is great and I am quite happy with my progress; however, I want to continue on the downward. I have tried calorie shifting as well. I think that I have to get more consistent with the exercise because it has been sporadic at most because of my schedule.

Again, thanks for the words of wisdom and I can't wait until the day that I am rejoicing in this thread about 100lbs. gone for good. So close that I can taste it. LOL

Cindy

I made it! I hit the 100# mark today and I'm so thrilled! This band has been a dream come true for me. I never ever imagined that I could loose 100 pounds in just 6 1/2 months. My next mini goal will be to loose 9 more to get to onderland. The weight loss is getting much slower now, but I'll try to make it by Memorial Day.

Congratulations to everyone!

Nip50:

Congrats! Yippee and Yahoooo! I am proud of you and you should be very proud of yourself too.

You did this so fast! Keep up the good work and Onederland is yours.

Take care.

Sue

Add me to the list. Although I have not lost all of it with the band, I did lose it all since i began pursuing the band last year. I had to get my BMI down before I could have surgery.

I made it! I never thought I would make it!! I have lost 101lbs!!! I am so thrilled! I am still hoping to get to onderland by 8/13/07...Which means I need to lose about 48 more lbs, I am really hoping to do it by my band aniversary! Not sure if that is a realistic goal but that is okay! Anyways congrats to everyone here that has gone on before me!! I know we have accomplished something totally amazing when we get here! You are all such an encouragement to me! I am working on new picts to post soon. Take Care!! and Best Wishes!

Jess - congratulations! I know how wonderful this feels you should be so proud of yourself. Keep up the good work.

Thast so wierd...same start weight within a pound and my weight as of this week...LOL. Congrats!!!!!! My 1 year is August 1. I doubt I will lose another 50 by then but you never know! My goal is between 200-210 when I start back to school in September. I hope the kids dont recognize me!

Wow! Such inspiring success stories! You've all motivated me to change my next weight loss goal to something a little more ambitious than I was originally aiming for: 100 pounds lost by my 1 year bandiversary. I think I can do it! :)

WOOOHOOOO!! Add me to the list ...I made it to the 100 pound mark yesterday ..one day short of my 7 month bandiversary!! I can hardly believe 7 months ago I weighed 100 pounds more than I do!! My goal is getting closer and closer! I am so excited!!

I'm at -107 now! And even though I still have 125 pounds to go... I never dreamed that even THIS much was possible!

Great, I hope to get there too, right now I've lost 52 lbs. How long does it take to loose 100 lbs? I had my surgery on 12/3/08.

Debbie
