  1. Congratulations! You're looking great!
  2. Thanks for the review - I'm going to try one at a local retailer.
  3. I've registered for a try-a-tri this spring - going to use this as motivation to get my butt back in gear. This thread has been really helpful and inspiring!
  4. I too got completely unfilled when I found out I was pregnant. I ended up gaining really fast - it was crazy! I think it played with my hormones and I ended up miscarrying. Next time, I'm leaving my fill in or just slightly unfilling. I don't think rapid weight gain can hurt the baby, but if you're someone who had heavy periods with lots of clotting, then I would be very cautious about gaining weight to quickly. I think it's all ties into the hormones.
  5. I can't see it but I can feel it if I press down on the area.
  6. I'm curious about all the different ways the band can feel temporarily tighter. I've experienced being tighter during periods of stress, while being sick and during the week before my TOM. I've read about getting tighter during flights and after intense exercise. Are there any other situations in which the band can feel temporarily tighter?
  7. Wow! Such inspiring success stories! You've all motivated me to change my next weight loss goal to something a little more ambitious than I was originally aiming for: 100 pounds lost by my 1 year bandiversary. I think I can do it!
  8. Congrats! We're almost at the same weight but I started out heavier. I need to start training too!
  9. I love my band today! But I do still have moments of frustration when I want to eat something I shouldn't and the band won't let me. I hate it in the moment but I love it the next day!
  10. Nope! I LOVE ditching the fat clothes now that I'm confident that I won't gain this weight back (like I've always done in the past).
  11. My fills are done about 1.5 inches below my port scar. Maybe your port is really tilted so he had to inject on a sharp angle?
  12. There should be another option - I gained weight during the first month. And the second. I didn't start losing until the fourth month.
  13. Wow - you're looking fantastic!
  14. Hi everyone, I hope you're all out enjoying this (slightly) warmer weather this week. I've started walking outside now that the roads are no longer skating rinks. I met a big goal today: I've lost 50 pounds. I've been banded for 8 months so I'm a fairly slow loser but at least the weight is coming off. I only really started losing weight 4 months after I was banded (after my 4th fill). In the beginning I was really discouraged by the slow weight loss but even at 1 pound per week, it does add up! So for all my fellow slow losers, don't give up!!!

  16. WDW At Large - One Size Does Not Fit All! The above website is specific to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. It has ride pictures and lots of reader comments.
  17. I have a question - I'm addicted to Crystal Light Lemon-Lime and whenever I vacation in the States I can't find that flavor. Is it available outside of Canada?
  18. Wow you look awesome! You'd never guess from that after picture that you need plastic surgery. Thanks for sharing with us - it's very inspirational.
  19. I'll be out of town on March 9th - getting far, far, away from all this snow!
  20. Glad you found a solution Nan! It's sure easier than going to Toronto for the defill. I haven't lost a single pound since Christmas. :tongue2: I'm hoping to get some motivation from everyone this Saturday!
  21. Are you suffering from reflux? I just don't get what the big deal is about giving fills to other doctor's patients. It's a fill - a simple procedure that a nurse could do. It's not rocket science! I don't understand why this simple procedure is not available freely? Does this apply to any other medical procedure?
  22. You look fantastic!!! I never would have guessed that was the body of 50+ year old. Truly inspirational!
  23. When you go back for fills, do them in very small increments like 0.1 or 0.2 cc's so that you can find your sweet spot without being overfilled and suffering at night.
  24. Hi Cindy, Can you ask Dr. Bishop why he won't fill patients from other surgeons besides Dr. Cobourn?
  25. Hi Agnes, sorry to hear you're not recuperating as fast as you had hoped. I know I felt pretty good on day 2 and 3 but days 4 to 7 I felt really tired and stayed in bed pretty much the whole time. I ended up taking 2 weeks off of work. I didn't feel any pain or anything out-of-the ordinary inside. In fact, I couldn't tell I was banded until my third fill. I even ate a BigMac the week after I was banded (a big no-no). Get well soon!
