My Type Of Inspiration May Not Be For You!!!

Recommended Posts

This message is for all those who see my inspirational posting as too Religious for Lap Band. (Elcee). I just want you to know that My postings may not be for you since you think they are too religious so I would give you the advice to block me off your page. Because the way I see God is apart of this process and if you don't have him. The way I feel failure process of losing weight will be an option if you don't have the right guidance and strength and Faith in yourselves. What works for me may not work for you!! To All those who like my inspirational posting I will keep them coming!!!! Smooches!!!

Lets Go bandsters!!!!

I happen to not agree that God has a part in my journey, but I've just been skipping over your posts, as opposed to reading them, and getting worked up or offended.

I wish you all the success, and I'm glad that you've found motivation, even if I don't share the same beliefs.

I agree I don't have to read things but I still think that there is an appropriate place. There is a forum specifically for Religious bandsters, I still think that this is the most appropriate place for these type of posts not General lap Band Discussion. I think that we should aim to keep things in the correct place and that we should respect all beliefs as not everyone will believe the same stuff as you.

BTW if you wish to inspire there are ways of doing it that can include everyone whatever they believe. If that is your aim then why not try to post a thread that inspires everyone.

Even as a christian I originally thought your posts weird and out of place. But I understand that God is ur motivation and I totally respect that. Also I believe that if you truly " respect others belief" then u respect the fact that most religious People's faith teaches them to spread the good news of their faith and it's affect on their life. I think your posts are from ur heart and obviously God is in your heart.i started feeling a bit convicted that i was not sharing that part of my journey which is a lot of prayer .Any way like u said they can block you if they dont like it.but do what inspires you ! And you know many people are receiving it even if they never tell you ! please keep them coming !

I think that if people can post threads about sex, drugs, and other "controversial" subjects in this area with what I perceive as minimal upset among other bandsters I don't see why there would be any problem with upbeat, and encouraging posts even if they are religious. It's funny that there is a lot of support until someone gets religious...then these "supportive" people turn on them. I'm sorry to sound mad but it made me a bit sad. We should be supportive and accepting and like everyone said, if you can't handle it don't read it.

Those threads are not posted in this area. They are generally posted in the appropriate place either powder room gone wild or Rants and Raves.

Which was my exact point. That everyone should feel free to post what they want so long as it is in the appropriate place.

I have no problem with religious threads so long as they are not classified as general lapband support.

It is important to have some kind of order and also to stick to the rules and guidelines. If we ignore these then we could end up with anything anywhere and that could cause further problems.

Question: Would you be happy if someone started a thread about sex, drugs etc in the General Lap Band support section?

Im truly not sure why people get so worked up over silly things. When i log on threw my phone every post from every category for the past 3 days loads not individual categories.

I read the title and if its not something i want to read i move along to something else.

To the original poster of this im not highly religious but i enjoy your posts stay inspired if god keeps you modivated thats wonderful :) congrats on your success!

I am all about god! Glad there is someone that is adult enough and just skips them without making negative comments or belittling another HUMAN being! GOD knows we receive enough of it for beig fat to begin with! Now we join a website like this and get to be ridiculed for something else that works in a positive force for us!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
