Gas X will not work on the gas pumped in your abdomen. Walking and heating pad and your pain meds will help.

The gas pumped into you during surgery is completely different then the gas you normally get, so gas x does nothing for it. Getting up and moving around is the quickest way to disburse the gas.

Gas x def worked for me. My doc told me the same thing bout strip so I didn't.take them right away n was in pain for two days....the third day I took one w baby ibuprofen..n within one hr passed a big one...sorry tmi

I stayed ahead of the pain with pain meds and also took gas x. It wasn't a bad recovery.

Had my surgery this morning also, was doing great until tonight. Gas pains getting worse, doing a lot of walking and breathing exercise, has x strips, and it's not helping yet. When people are saying they stay ahead of the pain, are you taking more pain medicine than the recommended 4 hours?

Nope, I took pain meds as directed. The walking was really the thing that helped me with the gas. It really did get better each day though.
