Until the band starts getting fills its just along for the ride. i required 5-6 cc in a 10cc band to get sufficient feedback from the band for me to say the band was doing what I thought it should and that took about 6 months. Peer pressure and high expectations create unrealistic personal goals, and when the expectatios are not met, feelings of failure crop up and then we start to look for a reason why we are not losing like others on this boardf. Try to set your own short term goals and for pete sake do not use what people say or do on this board..... This board has its uses for support and information but not comparison!!!!! This journey requires patience and full knowledge of the procedure and its ups and downs which is not happening at the physicians office. Do your own research,ask questions get answers!!!!! Remember patience!!!

Gas X will not work on the gas pumped in your abdomen. Walking and heating pad and your pain meds will help.

You are off the diuretics.... you have gained water weight...no big deal and still frustrating.

I have the same issues as you do, Mine is difficult like yours on all 7 fills. Just get the lidocaine and let the Dr do what has to do to get the fill.......

I was the one that told you the band was not turned on....meaning it will take multiple fills to get it working properly.

Usually the band is either put in empty, or like mine, had 3 ccs put in at surgery.

Dont worry about!!! Get the angioplasty done. Its no big deal. You have two decisions. Get a second opinion before you get anything done. Find out what the cardiologist story is, I have had 7 of them and they are no big deal.

I have 6+ in mine and the restriction is waning. Will go at the end of the month to get another fill to something over 6.5.

When the body starts to burn fat one of the byproducts of that is a chemical called ketones. I use it to guage whether I am burning fat of not...

I have a seizure disorder and it was not a problem for getting the surgery.

I have one and the heart disease counted as a comorbity for insurance.

some insurances require the bariartric surgeon to have at least 300-400 surgeries to be competant in the craft. Some dont.... I would consult a bariartric surgeon to check this guy's advice... doesnt sound right.

was banded 9/30.. I have 6 cc in a 10 cc band. Got a fill yesterday to 6 cc and am just now starting to feel some restriction. One of the parts of the band procedure is the fills, thats when it really starts to work. I dont suspect the small amt that you have in your band would give you any restriction, it wouldnt for me.. I know and understand now that patience is one of the most important tools for using the band.... this not a gastric bypass and will not let you lose weight quickly as those patients do.. Tell your doc your disapointments and see if he will fill you at a faster rate. Mine does 1 cc every 3-4 weeks. 264/227/160

I was banded on 9/30. Have lost 35 lbs so far with several plateaus of 2 weeks or more. Have 2 fills for a total of 5 ccs in a 10cc band, and have a fill on 12/29. 264229180
