Question for bandsters who can still eat lettuce. if you put a Protein on a salad or bed oflettuce, how much lettuce can you eat? I had a few ounces of chicken on about 3/4 c lettuce for dinner. Holy smokes I am so stuffed! Not to mention I haven't had lettuce in about three months and mystomach is making crazy noises trying to digest it!

I usually do a handful- I would guess it's about 1 cup. I usually also do 3-4 ounces of meat.< /p>

Try taco salad ..... I'm not talking about the kind you get at taco bell. no deep fried tortilla and no iceburg..... make it at home and if you have a family that will eat it that will be great too. Here's what I put in mine:

Leaf type lettuce

salad onions

fine chopped red/yellow/ or orange bell pepper

light red kidney Beans

ground beef seasoned with salsa

cheese

a few crunched up fritos for crunch

dressing of choice

Believe me, it is very yummy and a good way to get the Protein with the cheese, beef and Beans ......

I mix up all he veggies and serve the other stuff in dishes on the side. That way you can store it and have it again for another meal .... just nuke the beans and meat the next day.

I can't have lettuce at all! It doesn't agree with me.

We had a taco salad over the weekend similar to Hummingbirds. I have a salad about 5 days a week. I prefer a mixture of spinach and various lettuce types. I can eat cucumbers, radishes, carrots, tomatoes and broccoli. I can add chicken to it like we did last night but salmon seems to be a problem.

Oddly enough I can get a salad down with croutons. Alone it's tough!

I have to eat a salad extremely slow and make sure its chewed very well. I can only tolerate a small amount of it.

Probably because you have to pulverize the crouton and when you are eating the salad alone, you may not chew as well...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
