Feeling Yucky On First Day Of Pre-Op Diet

Here it is 8:40 pm and this is what I've had all day today. 2 protein shakes, 16 oz of water, 1 cup of broth and one sugar free jello. Now I am nauseated, have a really bad headache, I'm weak and cannot stomach my last protein shake. I know I dindn't get my water in and that is because I was on the road traveling. Hope the next 13 days don't feel like this.

Don't be nervous, it will go smooth. I'm sure it's the lack of water that I didn't take in today. I also do not know whether I'm diabetic or not and my blood sugar could be low. I called my surgeon and he called me back and told me to drink some juice, I did, but not feeling much better yet. said for me to call his office in the morning and get right in if I'm still feeling light headed and dizzy, nauseated etc. CAlling it a night and maybe I can sleep it off, lol. Good luck tomorrow on ur pre-op diet.

Sometimes when u start a pre-op liquid diet its about withdrawals of food that make u feel a bit strange/different/wierd/sick/dizzy most people have been eating too much sugar and carbs and when these are drastically reduced u will get those withdrawal symptoms so stick with it, not everyone gets them ready2loseit so dont be concerned i am sure u will be ok .. most people are :)

when i started my liquids, the first couple days i did have headache and felt (dizzy etc) but it does get better. i am on day 10 of this 14 liquid liver diet. you

just keep pushing on and realize it is mental. you will learn what head hunger is and when you are really hungry. (( you both can do this))

(((hugs to donna and ready))))

I know how u feel. I'm ashamed to say that mine is only a 3 day diet, I'm tryin to do one extra and I already feel like quitting. :( the mind is a powerful thing!

I just got my pre-op diet e-mailed to me today. I start it on the 11th. Mine is 1 one protein shake for breakfast and one for a snack, then for lunch and dinner no carbs or sugars. No pasta, bread, potatoes or any other starches. It said to eat a half lunch and a half dinner. How do I know what they consider half. I think I will call Monday and see if they could be a little more clear on how many calories and things.
