Help. I Cant Stop Eating

Recommended Posts

I have been banded since the end of feb this yr. I was down from 226 lbs to 216. Then as I was able to start eating again I can't stop and gained everything that I lost. I walk but can't stop eating. I have gotten 2 fills but nothing. I am now at 4 cc's in a 10cc band. I am hoping as I get more fills I will stop eating. Any suggestions?

Journal what you are eating. It may be quantity or it may be the type of food you are eating. Ask to talk to a nutritionist and take you journal along with you. They can help you!

Depending on what you're eating, the band may not be of help to stop overconsumption. Keep going for your fills and get in to see the nutritionist.

Thanks for all the feedback. I would of replied earlier but I didn't see An email stating people replied. My typical day: Breakfast bacon and cheese omelet with 8oz glass of milk. Snack: handful of almonds. Lunch: baked chicken with rice and corn (but I don't eat it all and save the rest for my dinner) snack greek yogurt. But I'm beaver really full.

Are you looking to be really full or just satisfied? My dietitian warned that you should never feel very full, because that can actually stretch your little pouch. Also, do you feel like you are starving hungry, or more head hungry?

What I mean is, do you really want to eat, or do you feel like you're starving and you absolutely have to eat?

Try bumping up the Protein in your Breakfast. Maybe add a scoop of Protein powder to your glass of milk in the mornings.

I would ditch the bacon, rice and corn. The rice and corn may actually be stimulating your appetite. Try adding

veggies to your omelette like spinach, broccolii, onions, etc. Try some plain Greek yogurt mix

ed( withfresh berries..add an artificial sweetener if you need it. Make sure you are getting 4 oz of Protein at each meal then add green leafy veggies..you could add a small baked sweet potato.

I agree with "hope floats". I think certain foods open up your appetite just like before your band. I try to stay away from carbs as much as possible. I have my days though. Most carbs like rice and bread don't do well with me anyway even if it's just a little.

I'm about 3 weeks in bandland and can honestly say: The first week was simple because I was in too much pain to eat. The second week I was feeling better, but still in the mushies stage. This week, I can eat solids (some) and seem to have remembered my love affair with food. This week I've GAINED two pounds.

It wasn't until I stepped on the scale tonight that I realized that I had gained, that I'm neglecting this tool which I'm fortunate enough to have.

To me, I need to decide if it's more important to be satisfied by the carbs, or to be healthy. It was an easy choice for me, and I'll be going back to liquids and Soups in an attempt to "reset" myself.

I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do!

My husband and I do that a lot too. Every couple of weeks I'll voluntarily do a day of liquids. It seems to help. Then one day out of the week I have something that is more of a splurge. I never feel like I can't have anything, so it helps to keep me on track

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
