Anthem Bc/bs Of Virginia

Has anyone run into difficulty being approved by Anthem of Virginia? I started my year on February 1, 2012 and joined WW online. I'm talking regularly to the Cova Care Coach, and had my appontments with the nutritionist and counselor. I have my proof that I joined WW. If I don't lose weight on WW will they deny me or if I do? I had no co-morbidities when I started but have since gone on blood pressure medicine. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me. That's great to hear.

I would keep all of your WW records, including the actual food log journals. I have heard of Dr's offices literally faxing the whole 6 months of journals. To be on the safe side, I would also schedule a monthly appointment with your PC Dr to discuss your weight loss efforts and get a monthly weigh in. Sometimes these insurance companies can be super tricky and if you miss one thing, you get to do it all over again.

I have Anthem BCBS as well, but I have a national plan that did not require a formal weight program. Good luck to you!

Wow, that's scary. I don't know if you can print out the online journals. You would think when they say do this, they wouldn't sneak new things in on you. lol. I can't say that I trust insurance companies though.

It took 2 days for my approval. I didn't send them all the detailed information. just a list And the dates. I wrote them a nice one page letter explaining how it woulf change my life while saving them money.

Have you had your surgery yet?

After my worrying, the insurance approved me over the phone, with no hesitation. Thank goodness. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow and surgery on 2/25/13.
