I am having a craving for Spaghetti, but I know that after my fill last week I better not try noodles. Give me some ideas of ways that you have made your spaghetti lapband friendly.

I'm going to get up the nerve to try spaghetti squash. Maybe that's an option. Good luck!

I have no trouble with spaghetti. I just take small bites and chew it well ..... I do have trouble with larger noodles like the large egg noodles and lasagna .... what works for some may not work for you, just give it a try and you will figure it out..... just remember regardless, take small bites and chew it well.

I make 2 kids of spaghetti at my house: One normal for me and one without noodles for my lo-carbing-it husband. He just likes a plate of sauce with meat, mushrooms, and peppers with parmesan on top. I like it with noodles. I can't eat but maybe 5 bites of it - but it helps the Pasta cravings! If I were you, I'd try it before I resigned myself to not eating it forever. I can eat almost anything (sans pizza crust) if I take small bites and chew it very well.

Good luck!

Marci

I can't do noodles so I just have the meat and sauce. We use ground turkey breast instead of ground beef. I did have lasagna last week and didn't have any problem with those noodles, as long as I took little, bitty bites.

Spaghetti squash is pretty good, just a different texture. Also you could try the tofu shiritaki noodles (they are where the vegetarian meat products are). They are 40 cals for the whole bag! Again, a different texture but not bad! As for me, I'm eating Pasta right now....no probs there!

I am still in stage 5 (mushy/ground) and I have a big pot of meat sauce in the crockpot- am planning to serve it over noodles for everyone else, and over part skim ricotta for me :) (shhh- I might have a bite of garlic bread though ;) )

1/2 cup low fat ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup prego spaghetti sauce, 2T parmesan cheese grated, 1/4 cup shredded low fat mozarella cheese. Microwave till cheese melts. Sometimes I also add a couple turkey meatballs. Who needs noodles?

Wow! Thanks for all of the suggestions. I guess I shouldn't be scared of trying the noodles, but I have just had several stuck episodes since my fill last week. Again that for the suggestions.

I went out to this restaurant (Italian) thinking I could have nothing on the menu. So my husband orders eggplant Parmesan...it went down smooth and tasted like lasagna...oh my gosh it was good!!!! So I got on a cooking light website and you can use whole wheat Panko instead of bread crumbs....I'm going to make it this week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
