Feeling a little exhausted by all of this :-/ i tried having food today and all the chewing and taking time to eat, the planning, the worrying! I'm not regretting the band, just wanting to know I'm not the only one feeling this way! (almost 4 weeks out- on soft foods) Today i had just one meatball and did well with it but couldn't even eat the whole thing... I felt like the effort of eating it wasn't even worth the calories.

hang in there.. its always confusing and more exhausting when starting out... but you will get there. it does get easier im told. im still on Soups, in the thicker stage now. ive had some pain in my shoulder after eating, im thinking thats a sign ive overdone it. im getting hungry now im waiting for my first fill. im looking forward to having more substantial foods myself. we are going into winter here in Australia, and hot food is making me more hungry. You did well with the meatball actually. did you make it ?? what was in it?? im getting very hungry for meat now, im sick of Protein Drinks.< /p>

Hang in there!! I am 8 months post op and down 63lbs. The first three to four months was frustrating but I am now doing great and the band has been an amazing tool for me! It will get better, be open and honest with your doctor and they will help you get through.

I probably won't do the meatballs again anytime soon... I am too nervous with solids and chewing and what not... Will stick to strictly purees for now. I think once i figure out what i can and can't have, I'll be better.

i reckon that purees will be a part of my diet as well for some time.. until i really get a handle on how to go about it all. im a bit nervous about solids myself. Actually... ive got another three weeks before im filled... so its not going to be easy for me, the weather is getting colder and i need more hot food. dear oh dear. lol

it will be 7 weeks from the op when i have my first fill. Is this the normal time frame between op and first fill??

I'm tired of liquids too although I'm able to have yogurt and runny cream of wheat or runny oatmeal so that's helped tremendously.

Opti can be purchased online but I have found it at my doctors office and at a medical weight loss clinic in town.

Normal time frame for fills is usually the 6th-7th week postop so you're right on track. I get mine 6weeks post op... I'm nervous! I can barely get used to the careful eating without a fill... I worry that i won't figure all this out! :-/

I'm getting my first fill tomorrow, which I think is good timing since my appetite has picked up these last four days. I'm a little worried it's a bit early, only a little over three weeks post-op. I'm on soft foods, but have started eating some solids, and as long as I chew and time my bites, I'm okay.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
