How Much Are You Eating?

Recommended Posts

Just had my 3 week postop checkup and everything is right on track... The surgeon advanced me to soft foods aka mushies for one week and then i can start real foods. I'm just curious how much food people are able to eat at once at this point... I have no restriction/fill yet, i get one in 3 weeks. I don't want to eat too much and undo all my hard work on the liquid diet... Help!!

I am also 3 weeks post opp, I have started eating regular foods last week...i have no restrictions yet I wont get my first fill until 2 more weeks. I do get hungry and have overate a few times, be careful its easy to fall back. I can tell because severe pressure and bloating, gas pains too. I can usually eat about 1 boiled egg and a thin peice cooked sandwich ham with peice of ff cheese rolled up. That fills me. Just eat small bites chew, chew, chew. Slow! Where are you from? I had mine in texas.

Just take your time eating and chew chew chew. I take a bite chew chew chew swallow and then wait 1 minute before I take another bite and so on. Remember to eat Protein first because this will keep you fuller longer. Good luck.

I am 5 weeks post op, and on solids now for two weeks, my doc told me that I should be eating 1/3 of what I use to, and to stick to 3 meals and small Snacks if needed..I will go for a fill when Iget back from holidays, and it will be 10weeks..the reason so late for a fill, is one, I will be on holidays, and two, I am losing weight at a good rate and feel good. I am down 34 pds, and not really struggling..so I will see if I need one sooner but so far, I feel good..

As for the food..1/3, is perfect, Protein first, smaller plates, chewing and taking my time is working..good luck!!

The nurse who helps my doctor said 1 cup of food per meal. She said even if you can eat more than that don't.

I was told that our pouch is only 4oz (1/2 cup) big and that I can have 3 meals a day that equals that. No snacks....etc. Im not restricted right now...but I feel restricted. I read the Lap Band book from Allergen that they gave me and it also said the same.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
