I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005. I got the band in march 2008. I have lost 95 lbs. I even got pregnant and have a healthy son and I weigh less than I did per-pregnancy. I will tell you that I did

I have to admit that I don't understand the people who say they feel getting a band means they are a failure. You can't get the band unless you have tried at a million diets. It not your fault that th

Its nice to know that im not alone dealing with pcos. I had all of hormones tested recently and the only thing that came back elevated was my free circulating androgens. Im not the typical pcos case.... i dont even have cysts! I hope the band helps....

I have PCOS and was banded on May 17th. I have not had a fill yet and I am getting very hungry. Over the hoilday I cheated, and I feel awful. I was losing wight and then it stopped (of course.) I go in soon to get my first fill. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it. I have dreams of being thin. I only know one other person personally who has done this and if I ask or tell her some of my complaints, she starts in with gossip to others. Does anyone have suggestions on how to over come this? ( the eating thing not the person talking!! lol)

What is pcos?????

I have it! I also was newly diagnosed with insulin resistant type 2 diabetes. Had my band done 21 months ago and have been yo-yoing with my weight. Actually going to dr tomorrow bc something has to give.

Willpastons.... I was banded 24 months ago and have been dealing with the same thing. Although I have been diagnosed with PCOS for 18 yrs I was only newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes since November. And I didn't take it well. I have spoken to my dr and nutritionist and have decided to go band to sleeve. Let me know what happens with your journey! I feel like I hit a road block with no detour.

I have PCOS and insulin resistant and was banned Nov 08, 2012.. I did really good at first but find now I am craving everything.. I have lost 57 to date. I go for a check up/fill thur. I am 6.7cc When I go over 6.9 I get sick and throw almost everything up except liquids.. I think I may have strechted my puch cause i can eat more. And get hungry faster.. I got on my scale and seen I m up 4lbs so mad at myself uuggghhhhh...

I went on a cruise in May and acutally lost a lb. But I think it is cause I walked all over.. I cant take Metformin I have very bad side effects from it and dont get my period due to a hysterectomy but left the ovaries..

I am so mad and just want to stuff my face but I know I cant.. I guess I just needed to vent. Thank you for listening..

Hello ladies, I am so glad I found this thread, and I will look for the other one too. I have pcos and am going to a seminar next wed...my insurance does a great job of covering the band and fills. I have a lot to learn about the band although I have been researching like crazy but even with all the info I knew having pcos would make this band different for me than someone without it. The only time I've ever been successful losing weight during infertility treatment to get pregnant(now have an awesome little guy) but since then I have gained that and more back, of course like we always do. So I am pretty much just starting this journey and appreciate so much that you have shared your tips & experiences for me to learn from!

Congrats on the wl Lindsey! Having pcos is the only that makes me nervous about not succeeding with the band! You give me hope!

Wht is pcos?
