Well I was filled yesterday. It had been 3mths and my doctor confirmed I needed a fill. He was great today not lecturing, encouraging. I was pleasantly surprised only gained 0.2 pounds, I was thinking 10 or more. Feeling less hungry today. More positive will keep at it.

I go to the Dr. on Thursday, I hope he is not lecturing or negative because I am behind on my weight loss. I am trying. I have restriction. I feel bad enough I do not need him to make me feel worse.

Go get a fill even if you have to pay ( a different doc)...its not supposed to be that hard! A lot of docs are very cheap with the fills because they make money off of them...

Bear Lake, don't allow your doctor to criticize you! Everyone loses at her own pace, sometimes rapidly and sometimes slowly. There's no such thing as being "behind" in your weight loss. If he starts with the lecturing and negativity, tell him what you told us - you don't need him to make you feel worse. These guys sometimes have no bedside manner. Surgeons are used to people who are asleep on the table and whom they may only see once more, so they don't develop any people skills. The bariatric surgeons are no different, except that they NEED to develop a good bedside manner because they continue to see their patients fairly frequently.

Just hang in there. That's what I tell myself. We're the customers our respect is deserved and paid for, that's the bottom line. I'm doing much better after the last fill.

Well I went to the doctor today and I was surprised to find out I had lost 8 lbs. My scale must be off. The Dr. recommended getting a digital scale apparently they are more accurate. Dr. said he thought I was doing good. Got a small fill. I do feel alot better.. :)

Good for you! You can get an inexpensive digital scale in Walmart or Target. It's important to get that feedback.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
