Hi everyone! I have been banded for nearly a year now and so far it has been a great experience. Yesterday though I noticed a bump up under my ribcage where there wasn't a bump before. I felt around my belly button where my port normally should be and I can't feel it. So I'm wondering if my port has somehow become detached and has moved up? Is this possible? If it is should I make an emergency appt with my dr office or just wait until my next visit (in 4 weeks)? There is no pain...just a freaky bump on my rib cage!

Thanks for any advice of info!!

Sounds rather odd. What type of band do you have? Allergan ports are stitched into place so it is unlikely that all the stitches would have pulled loose at the same time. It would be more likely that a couple of stitches could have been pulled causing the port to flip.

I believe that the Realise band is held in place by teeth. Again I would have thought that for it to come completely loose and travel that far would be really unusual.

Have you been doing anything unusual lately. Any kind of strenuous exercise that you are not used to?

I would be going to see a DR ASAP. Freaky bumps are not to be ignored, you never know what they might be.

I do have an Allergan band. Maybe it is just flipped but its all the way to the right and resting at the bottom of my rib cage so I'm not sure how it would have moved all the way over there and still stayed attached. I agree though...bumps are nothing to mess with! I'm making an appt! Thanks for your reply!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
