First of all, breeeeeaaaaatttthhhhhh. Being nervous is such a normal thing for any surgery, much less THIS EXCITING NEW LIFE ALTERING GREAT SURGERY! Being said that, AND being a surgical nurse, I must admit I was nervous the morning of. I promise you they will give you versed to make you not care about a care in the world, and then when you wake up you won't even know they did surgery. The pain, yeah its pain- but it is the most doable pain in the world. Personally, I was only on pain meds two days. You will see everyone talking about gas pain. Walk, walk and more walking. It will pass. Give it a week and you will feel great! Best of luck to you all!

My surgery is Thursday....well actually it is Thursday right now, but that's just because I can't sleep, I have to be there at 1030 surgery at 1230!

I am nervous as all heck. I too have had a lot of surgeries, last one in November. That one was nerve racking because it was a very dangerous heart surgery to repair my pacemaker. All went well though! This is more of a terrified of all the changes I will be making, For me this isn't about the pain of being cut open this is so much more than that. At least my heart Dr. was the one fixing everything for me, this I will go in and won't truly be fixed, that's up to me and that's a bit scarey to me. So I think my nerves are actually not for the physical part of the surgery, but rather post operatively. best wishes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
