Food Ideas For Clear Liquid Diet Phase??

Recommended Posts

I am three days post surgery and am pretty miserable on this clear liquid diet! Everyone said I wouldn't be hungry and would not want to eat, but that is NOT MY SITUATION. I want to eat something of substance so badly. I am sick of broth, Jello and popsicles.

I am wondering how big of a deal it is if I add Protein shakes, sugar free fudgesicles, sugar free hot cocoa and cream based Soups.?

I was reading a bunch of forums and while my doctor says only Clear liquids for seven days, I see that many other doctors only recommend this for the first two-three days.

Anybody else eating different foods in first seven days?

i had the Protein Shakes the first week, just drank them slowly. go to www.lapband.com and you can get tons of recipes for all the stages, to shake things up with the broths. i know it sucks, banders hell, but you are still very swollen. i did the broth for the 7 days, just mixed it up with the recipes i found for a change. after that first week it does get better. i was so happy to have cream of Tomato Soup ;)

Got banded yesterday in Tulsa. My lapband counselor just told me I could have a Protein Drink today. Tomorrow very thin blenderized Soups. I am feeling terrific, going to walk around Wal-Mart a bit, then home.

I was only on Clear Liquids for 3 days, full liquids for a week, softs for a week, then regular diet. Each doctor is different I suppose.

What about the flavored Decaf teas, orange spice, camomille, earl grey they are delish and might be more satisfying then broth and Jello. If your doctor told you to stay on Clear Liquids for a week then I would do as he said. You will be able to eat soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
