Star Jones is SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Apparently Barbara Walters thinks it's gastric bypass surgery:

"Walters said she and fellow producer Bill Geddie had put off telling Reynolds for months that her days on the show were numbered in hopes she could somehow "redeem" herself. She insisted that hiring O'Donnell had nothing to do with Reynolds being shown the door.

A MATTER OF TRUST

She said Reynolds' credibility was further tarnished by the dramatic weight loss she achieved with the help of gastric bypass surgery that Reynolds has never publicly acknowledged while touting the benefits of dieting.

"The audience began to distrust her," Walters said."

Its just not wise to cross Babs. LOL That woman has connections!!

Should we add Star's tabloid pic to the scar stages thread? They are doing GB by way of laparoscopic surgery now in some clinics. I know my fill doc here in Florida does them. So just because she has the scars doesn't mean it was the band. But the larger scar near the top looks awfully similar to a port scar.

I totally understand why she would not tell the truth. First of all, I don't like or dislike her. I have no opinion personally about her. However, as a public figure myself, I can only imagine if she came out and talked about it, People would flock to get it done and what would happen if they had complications or it did not work for them.? People are crazy. IT is a big responsibility to be famous and have people follow you. She did make the comment. " I did have a medical procedure not the bypass." I still had to diet and exercise." How much more does she have to say??

:clap2: :wow2: I totally agree with this statement, Star has said this many times but PEOPLE seems to forget or don't choose to acknowlegde it. Regardles if she is a public figure or not we have the right to NOT disclose our medical history. Even the government passed the H.I.P.P.A. law a few years ago.

I had the band done, and only 3 people knows. In time if some of my obese friends want to know how I lost the weight, then I will let them know if they are serious about losing it.

Thanks for the WOW. I sent you a PM. I almost used Dr. Renhke..... I live in South St. Pete...... I would like to talk. I was banded last week by Dr. Jawad in Ocala. My daughter just graduated from Northside Chrs. with Dr. Rehnke's daughter.

I do not tell everyone that I had weight loss surgery, so is it because she is a star people should feel that she should? What if she were banded and people keep asking her about the bypass.

I feel that losing weight is a very personal jurney that should be left up to the person to share.

I would agree except that she did write the book. From Amazon:

"Part One guides women toward being their most attractive physical selves using Star's personal secrets on losing weight"

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060824182/sr=8-1/qid=1151602301/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-2800954-6091146?ie=UTF8]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060824182/sr=8-1/qid=1151602301/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-2800954-6091146?ie=UTF8[/ame]

If she wanted it kept private, as is her absolute right, why write the book? She wants it both ways.

Now that is a problem...unless her secret was finding a doctor who can help you find a personal solution. LOL

That would be rather trashy.

The reason very few know is because when I was on diets before other peope would be watching my weight loss for me and that pissed me off. Like I have family member who would be like you should not eat that or even a second helping of salad is bad.

I think there are really valid reasons to not tell for sure. Having your family be your "food police" is sure one of them. I even can respect her saying that she doesn't want to influence other people to do something just because she did. But then to go and write a book about how to loose weight, and not include whatever she did seems really dishonest to me.

I've told pretty much everyone.

Well, I didn't have much choice about keeping my plans to have lap band surgery this summer a secret. As soon as I told my father, he went to the bank and announced it. Being a normal small town, my WLS news was all over town by sunset. When I got home, there were 34 messages on my phone with congratulations, info from people who had done gastric bypass, and people volunteering to walk with me.

Honestly, working at home or traveling for my job, I am quite alone. This outpouring of love and concern was overwhelming -- but deeply appreciated.

Much of my success so far is from that community embrace.

I believe that if Star Jones Reynolds had been honest about her WLS instead of letting her pride get in the way, it would have been healthier for her. Just think of the community love she missed by holding her nose up so high.

Karma bites.

Aw, that's sweet, if a bit overwhelming like you said.

My mom came back from a family gathering I couldn't attend and said "everyone is so excited about your surgery". She knew I as going to tell, but heck I would have liked to done it myself! DH was banded two years ago, so the family is familiar with what is involved, and have seen him look and feel better.

April 2006. Star's contract with the View was not renewed. Was this before Meredith made her announcement or not is unclear. One story says the problem was Star's dropping viewer comments (the donate wedding, not up front about weight loss). Star's side says that Rosie wouldn't come to the show if Star was there.

May-June27th...rumors run amuck.

June 27th. Star's surprise announcement that she is leaving.

Rumor has it that the _hit hit the fan backstage after the show. And her name was really mud with Barbara after People posted the interview on the web saying Star felt fired.

Don't you love a good cat fight?!?!!

Hey. ya'll. My two cents...

I think it's all a bunch of BS. If she had it done and she's walking around in a bikini she's basically asking for people to start talking. I had my gallbladder out 9 years ago laprascopically and now the band in Jan. The doctor couldn't use my gallbladder surgery scars so now I basically look like a stab victim, and if I choose to go walking around in a bikini I can't expect people to ignore all the scars! I mean, really! And she doesn't want people to go get this surgery just because she did... What about Ann Wilson from Heart, or Sharon Osborne? They are both open about their Lap Band surgeries and you don't hear about people blaming them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
