December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

Recommended Posts

Still the same issue, 10lbs first week, battling 2lbs for the last two weeks. See the dr. tomorrow, & I'm really hoping that this does not continue. 500-800 calories per day & walking 5 days a week for half hour to go up/down over 2lbs! I'm sure when he starts the fills I'll still be only eating 500-800 calories a day. Sorry so down, but I could have done better on my old way of dieting. Hope something changes soon.

maybe but it was a diet not a life style change. Remember we loose slower with the band but we keep it off! Hang in there.

Saw my dr. today, said you're done with the liquid diet of three weeks now on to soft foods for three days. After that more of a regular diet with food that I can mush up with a fork. No more Protein Drinks or jello! Danced out of the office, no fill said I had some in me from the surgery and to see him in a month. Told him I'm still freaking out of only losing 2lbs over two weeks, told not to worry it will come off slowly. Okay so here I go with the next step in my journey. Still worried about eating more than 500-800 calories per day otherwise I might not lose anything. At least that's how its been for the last two weeks. When they say to eat 1/2 cup of food is that both Protein & veggies at one sitting? thanks

Developed infection in two of my sites, doctor had to clean them out (ouch) and antibiotics. That is better now and back to work Monday. I am three weeks post-op and have lost 18# plus 42# pre-op for a whopping total of 60#. Feeling awesome!!!!

Banded on 12/12 as of this morning I am down 22 pounds since the beginning of my journey. I have less than 100 pounds to lose to get to my goal YEAH ME! I just got a fill yesterday so I have 4cc in my 10cc band now. My weight loss after surgery has been slow but I am losing. First time I didn't gain weight during the holidays, that is a victory in my book.

Started solid foods this week and other than not sleeping very well, everything is great! I've lost 18 lbs as of today (I was banded on 12/30), and go in for my first fill on 1/30. Since I started on solids, my weight loss has slowed down dramatically to 1-2 lbs a week, just like it should be. Following WW diet, which worked well for me and is easy (they have GREAT recipes), but still not drinking enough. How do you drink all that in one day?

We're doing it, all of us together!

I also can't figure out how to drink enough and I carry Water with me everywhere. I'm at a two week weightloss standstill. I started at the gym this week so I hope it pays off. I'm sick of seeing no change.

Hi gang,

I went for my first fill earlier this week. found out I had gained 4 lbs since my post op visit on the 4th. Doctor said that this was perfectly normal and do not panic. Received a 3.5 cc fill (she told me that she put 2 in when I had my surgery). Took a sip of Water, could not hold it down. She removed .5 and it made me feel much better. She told me after fills, 2 days liquid, 2 days mushies, then food. The first 2 days following my fill, the only thing I could do is sip water and hot herbal tea (could not drink any Protein Shakes without feel nauseous). Day 3, sipped hot tea, water an it took me all day to get in on Protein Shake. Just placing emphasis on getting the water in my system. Today, still sipping water and Protein drinks. Gas and gurgling, otherwise, I am feeling pretty good.

Because it is taking so long to drink, I am not even in the mood to try mushies. Has anyone else had this experience? Do I have to wait for my band to :"loosen up" before going to the next phase?

I think it's interesting that so many ppl have been told to have liquids, mashies, after fill. 2 weeks ago after my first fill I was told to eat as normal/ what I could tolerate.

Surgery was 12/19 and first fill was almost 2 weeks ago. I am at a plateau and it's driving me nuts. I've been walking, working out with a trainer, lowered sodium, low carb, less than 1000 cal a day. I would like to get closer to 1200 since the training but I just cant eat that much. Anyone gone through this yet? Any suggestions?

I got some Protizyme Protein Powder mix (the Peanut Butter Cookie is great!) and mix it with milk and a couple of ice cubes. I was really surprised at how it keep me satisfied until lunch, but I've lost 2 lbs started using it. Sometimes if you're at a plateau, you need to eat a little more. Add some good carbs and that might do the trick.

I was doing great til yesterday. Down 28 pounds (my scale) 23 doctor's scale. Starting to have a lot of pressure in my head (left side) the pain goes up each time my chest tightens. I think my band is really really tight - I'm rarely hungry. Not sure what the pain/pressure in my head is about though. Even still, I'm happy I went through w/ the surgery.

Hope your ok!! I had my band on Dec 8th 2011.. had no problems lost 25 pounds I had 1 fill on Jan 16th and now I get hungry Maybe a mind game??? I go for another fill Feb 13th maybe this will get me in the Green Zone

Good Luck to you!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
