Well, considering the average expected loss is 4-8 lbs/mo, and you've lost 7 lbs each month, I'd say you're doing GREAT!! There is nothing to be frustrated about, you are right on track for a terrific year.

You're doing great, if you had the outlook of 100 pounds in a year and you are down 42 at 6 months then at six months your desired goal was 50 you are only 8lbs off. You are doing wonderful, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!! :clap2:

Pat yourself on the back, you have lost 42 pounds, you will lose 100 lbs one day but you need to tell yourself what a great job you have done so far. The cup is half full, if it takes 2 years to lose 100 lbs it doesnt matter does it.

Focus on the positive and you will find you have a lot to focus on, congratulations on your success to date and keep up thye good work.

YOU ARE DOING FINE! I am right at 6 months and I have lost "only" 50+ lbs and I am at times a little discouraged, but I realize that this is NOT a race! A year, 2 years.....what ever it takes, we WILL get there! I tell you what, I dont have that "sunken in" look that alot of people who have lost too quickly! I have maintained my muscle mass, that usually gets used up when you lose too quickly! The more I think about it........I am losing it at just the right pace!!!

Well, At six months, I think I'd lost about 30 lbs, and now I'm at about 18/19 months and I'm at 55lbs lost, so even if you aren't going to reach your goal of 100lbs in one year, you are still doing really great.

If you lost too much too fast you will have a SAGGY skin all over your body...

Take it easy girl, and remeber these are a life-long changes. Not a YoYo thing.

Just think of where you will be next year at this time if you keep going at that pace, that will be a great accomplishment. Slow weight loss is the healthiest choice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
