Michelle,

I had my lap band done on Nov 4th. The insurance held me up a couple months and then I started thinking maybe I shouldn't do it. Well, I went ahead with it and now I'm so glad I did! I feel great and it's only been 10 days. I'm back to work and on pureed foods and have a follow up today, Just do everthing they tell you and if you've ever been ill after being put to sleep, , let them know before the surgury and they can give you something special. I had al little liquid loritab that evening and nothing since. A little discomfort now is better than whatI was up against being 100 lbs overweight. Take care of yourself, and follow your heart.

I had never had surgery before and was terrified. But the surgery was the easiest part. Just follow your doctor's instructions and everything will be fine.

I am very pleased with the results of my surgery on 10/25/2011 and I'm doing well. I just started my second week of blended/mushie food. Check out my blog and/or videos (see signature below) for information on my lapband experience.

Keep positive ! I got banded last month and I'm still trying to adjust. Go for it. So far I've lost almost 20lbs , it comes off slowly but all worth it. Remember chew chew chew ! Good luck on your surgery :)

I was banded on 9-1-11 and have lost 35 lbs. My sister had it done in March and has lost 70 lbs. It is still work but the band really helps with how much you can eat. We did a total turn around in the things we eat. My big treat is the small italian ice cup you buy at the grocery store. Before I would have eaten a ton of icecream. I am so glad I did it. The weight comes off slow but I would rather be losing slow than gaining. Good luck!

Think twice about getting the Lap Band Surgery......Look under CBS News Lap Band.....Study done by the physician that started this surgery. Results are not good. 20 yr study Another physician stated that he used to do 50% Lab Band now he only does 5% or less. Please read everything. They only tell you the good stuff. And if you want support you can forget that also. A once a month support group......what a joke. I went to a few of the support groups but it was a waste of time. I have done well with the Lap Band, but very few do. If I had a choice and knew what I do now I would have the gastic bypass. Lap Band is very hard to do.....you have to accept that everything will change or not. I was in a room with about 50 other patients for a band fill not to long ago and only two of us had lost weight. Myself and a male patient. Lap Band done June 2009

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
