Stomach Rumbling After Lap Band Surgery

Recommended Posts

I was banded om 11/23 and have gotten hiccups 3 times. And they HURT! It's not that I'm having difficulty chewing because I'm sill on thin liquids.. I believe it had to do with the amount of air that gets in while I sip. My stomach also makes super loud rumbles. To the point that my 2 year old lifts up my shirt asking what's in my belly making all that noise!

I think the hiccups and burping are a sign I am getting full, but at times they are very painful. But if you suck on a lemon slice they will go away...

Wow I thought I was alone. I asked my doctor at my appointment last month as well. I have been burping like crazy and it is very loud. I disgust myself! Like "ProudMommyof3BayBeez," my doctor said it was the air in my stomach from not chewing properly. I excuse the "loud sounds" from my stomach as "old lady noises." The worst is when it happens in small meeting rooms. Best of luck all.

I wonder if not chewing well enough is my problem as well! I recently had a slight unfill due to recurring reflux issues that ultimately led to me getting aspiration pneumonia (sad part is the dr's nurse was against my unfill until this occurred). Now it seems like everytime I eat something I get these horrible rumbling/gurgling noises like my stomach is working overtime to digest my food. I will try chewing more and see what happens; glad to hear I'm not the only one with these issues!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
