Is it just me or.....

Do you find yourself getting worried that your situation is going to turn out like some of the others that haven't been successful with the band? I like to come to the forum to read what other people's experiences with band are like but sometimes I get a bit discouraged.

I was banded on 11-02-11 and so far I've lost 15lbs. And I'm super excited but then i'll read someone's post about losing about the same weight and not losing anything else for a year or so and INSTANTLY I start saying, "don't get excited this could be all the weight you're gonna lose!"

I know everyone's journey is different and I try to keep that in mind but I was just wondering if anyone else has these thoughts.....,

I am feeling the same way, exactly. I was banded on 10/28/11 and I have lost 19 lbs so far (including the pre-op diet). I'm so afraid that I did this for nothing.

I know that I have to do the work and the band will help me, but I have failed at every other diet I have tried. What if I don't have what it takes to do this successfully?

Good luck with your journey.

You've got such a good start, why not see if you can lose 1 1/2 or 2 lbs next week. That's 100 lbs

a year. You're not going to lose all you want at once, but 2 lbs a week is enough. Try for 800 to

1000 calories with some exercise a day and you won't have any trouble. Don't worry about what

someone else does, you're the only one losing your weight. Try to think of

the thousands that don't post here because they don't have any problems.

You need to practice positive self talk and back it up with actions...

I felt that way too in the beginning....I had to stop reading for a while. Now I am 8 months out and 110lbs gone. I watch my calories and exercise and the weight comes off. Stay positive! It will come off!

Thanks for being so encouraging. I know this journey isn't going to be EASY and at the same time, it'll be a lot easier than it has been. I appreciate your reply! Thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
