Food and Soup Please chime in Vet's

Recommended Posts

I eat Soup all the time and I'd say it played a good part in my success. Yes, in theory it doesn't let the band work its magic, but somehow it works from me. It's easy to eat, easy to order or keep on hand, a good way to get vegetables in and, in my opinion, immensely satisfying.

Indeed soup is usually the meal itself, although I too order it often as an appetizer when I'm out, especially with people who don't know I was banded. I never drink with meals (unless it's wine and I'm out and even then I try and drink it early in the game) but somehow soup doesn't feel like it counts. I guess if I were to eat a meaty or carby meal and followed it with a brothy soup it might not go down too well a la other liquids, but that's not really the natural order of things anyway.

I'm with the other "soupers". I often make Soup -- healthy Soups like bean, lentil, vegetable etc, in a crock pot, and then freeze in small portion sizes. Very easy to pull out and eat for dinner and/or lunch with some veggies. I consider it my meal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
