Anyone use the LapBand ID card?

I had heard about it from others and at my 2 week post-op appt, my surgeon gave me a LapBand ID card that can be used at some restaurants to order off the kids menu or order half an entree. Just curious about anyone who has used it and which restaurants recognize it. I guess I could just ask when I get there, but kind of wanted to know up front if it would be accepted.

My husband and I go out to dinner maybe once or twice a month and it would be nice to order smaller portions. That way we keep our bill low and don't have to drag leftovers home everytime.

Where do you get a card I have never heard about it my doctor hasn't even mentioned it

HI This actually sounds like a great idea! I like to go out with friends to eat and that is actually one of the things I am worried about. Eating is such a big part of the social situations we are involved in be it with work or out to dinner. Being able to order 1/2 would be nice. If not I just ask for a to go box when I get my meal and put 1/2 aside. I have 3 teens and I am sure that when I get home someone will eat it before I ever get the chance to eat it! Keep in touch!

I got my cards from the doctor before my surgery. Another thing....my husband and I went out to dinner on a night our electric was out. I am on my Optifast two-week pre-op diet and I took a packet of soup and ordered a cup of tea plus another cup with just hot water. I mixed my soup at the table and had that for my dinner. The waitress didn't seem to mind at all, just curious. The restaurant didn't charge me at all for the extra cup of water. So we still got to eat out together!
