First appointment with doc

Recommended Posts

So next week is my first appointment with my doc for lap band and ive read everywhere that its required to do diet for 3 months prior to getting scheduled for surgery. My question is, is it neccesary? I was working with my personal doctor for 6 to 9 months on loosing weight and I did loose some but gained it back very quick so thats when he referred me to this bariatric doc. So basically I just want to know if I have to diet again for another 3 months if ive tried for 9 months already and my doc is giving me a letter that says all that? Any answers would help a lot

I think the answer depends on you, your doctor and your insurance.

I worked with my PCP for six months for the documentation my insurance (aetna) needed. That was one of the "checklist" of things I needed. Psych, sleep study, support group mtg, seminar, dietitian, once that checklist was completed Aetna approved and surgery scheduled. there has been no second diet, though we are always on diets, right?

Of course I have I have my prep diet in front of me. Surgery 12/14.

Steve

From what I hear here, yes they are similar but different.

Every session has been worthwhile.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
