December Bandsters!

My origanal surgery date was 8/24 but as an unemployed teacher I was offered a job 5 days before and accepted although bitter sweet. My new surgery date is 12/21 and I wish it was sooner but atleast I will have 14 days over Christmas Break to rest and heal. I am still nervous and having so much time to wait yet again I read some of the horror stories people post and get second thoughts. However I know I will be a happier and healthier me in the long run. Anyone else in the same boat? Having the support system of others has really helped me through.

WOOT! Tomorrow is my surgery! Yeah it is finally almost here, and boy did these past 2 weeks go by sooooo slowly, but tomorrow is the first day of my new life.

Good luck to all others having surgery tomorrow or this week. I am sure I will be back soon looking for advice and support.

Thank you all !

I'm getting my band on the 21st of december. I'm in my second week of the pre-op diet, its getting way easier just two and half more weeks to go.

Good luck to everyone with their bands

Wow---in 4 days I'll have my surgery---I cannot believe that the time is finally here. My pre-op diet is going good, Ive kept active & busy & have been reading up & studying all the material on what to expect/how to live after the surgery!! Looking forward to my future success

Two more days and I have my surgery. The 2 week liquid diet hasn't been bad at all. The first week the weight came off fast but then slowed down this week. I've lost about 12 lbs. so far on this liquid diet. I've lost quite a bit of weight since starting this journey and people ask me why go through with the surgery since I'm doing it on my own. I tell them it's keeping it off that's the problem! Anyway, I wish everyone a speedy recovery!

Happy to hear everyone is having an easy time with the pre-op diet! I start mine next Thursday. I'm anxious to find out what is involved with the diet. Won't find out until my 10 day diet appt.

Good luck to all of the December 2011 bandsters!!

I am a December 2010 Bandster and remember exactly what you are all going through. I just popped into your thread to wish you all the best and a successful weight loss journey.

The band has helped me to lose over 100 pounds. Its not always easy but well worth it.

Well, in less than 24 hours I will be in surgery!! I am so excited and not at all nervous. I am so ready both physically and mentally.

As I planned out my food for today, I decided to add in a couple more of the things I am allowed during this pre-op phase but that I haven't had. I've found with the Protein powder that I haven't been hungry at all and really didn't feel the need for many of the extras (oatmeal, applesauce, cream soups) but today I am going to treat myself a little bit. Who would have every thought that a bowl of oatmeal would be seen as a treat!! My, how the perspective changes! - lol

There are so many things I want to complete today (work for school that I brought home, cleaning the house, cooking a few meals ahead for my husband and mom, laundry, and on and on). You'd think I was going to be incapacitated for weeks!! But my mom has been staying with us for the past week and is needing a lot of help. She is having sciatica issues and is on some heavy duty pain meds. My poor husband will have two loopy patients to take care of for a couple of days :-) so I want to take as much burden off him as possible.

I know there are several other people scheduled this week for surgery so I want to wish everyone well! I'll be looking forward to hearing of everyone's progress.

Hi all. I am new here. I got the call last Monday that I got approved and my surgery is this Tuesday! I simply cannot believe how fast it happened. I'm ready for the post surgery. I am just nervous about the actual surgery. I have never had any surgery for any reason so I worry about anesthesia. Other than that I am excited.

My date is dec. 14th . I just started my 10 day liquid diet and it is hard! Im getting the iband. Its the band with a plication. I can't wait!

Hi All!!! My surgery is Dec 8th and I am very excited to continue on this journey!teeth_smile.gif

Congrats to all the people that are getting banded this week!!!

Count me in!!!

I'm super excited and SO ready for this new phase of my life! Surgery is scheduled Dec. 27th. Good luck to all of you!!!
