Winter vacation with band...

Recommended Posts

I am being banded in one week (9/27/11). I've been researching a winter vacation with friends & they are ready to book today. I'm not sure what it will be like after the band. I know I won't get my "moneys worth" at the all inclusive, but it's really more about the convenience. Also will my insurance cover me if I have any issues when I'm there (I'm from Canada & have travel insurance through my work plan & my husbands work plan)...just wondering if any other Cdns have experience with this.

Appreciate any advice/insight.

Thanks,

Lisa

I don't know about insurance coverage. As far as eating, you should be able to find band friendly foods like fish and veggies. As far as having trouble while your there, I wouldn't get a fill within a week or so of your trip. If you haven't had a fill in a while you should be fine. If you are getting sick, even occassionally, you might want an unfill before your trip. I just got one yesterday because I"m going to Europe for 11 days. Enjoy your trip!

I have no advice for you on this one, as only banded since Aug 15th and haven't not been on a vacation yet. But I just wondered where in Canada are you from? I live close to Toronto, Ontario.

I live in a small town just south of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
