Sweet Spot or Too Tight?

Recommended Posts

I have been very frustrated. I was banded on 6/27/11, and I have only lost 12 lbs. I was filled to 9cc's two days ago. Since then, I can't eat much. I'm happy, but just wondering how I'm going to get my Protein in. Everything is staying down. I just can't eat much. Could this be restriction, or am I too tight?

I would give it a few days, there could be some swelling from the fill. That is a big fill to get. Make sure you are eating high Protein foods first. I eat small amounts 6 times a day and get mine in, but everyone is different. Good luck

It doesn't sound like you are too tight at all to me. The point is so you can't eat much. Drink Protein Shakes and stick with high Protein foods to get it in. I still drink a Protein Shake now and then. Toss some yogurt, ice, strawberries, high Protein Powder and ice in the blender ..... yum

Have some chili with cheese on it.....yum

If you can't comfortably eat your Protein and 1-2 c of food per meal (depending what you're eating, e.g. 2 c of salad or 1 c salad and 1 c chili) then you're too full.

My doctor wants me only eating 1/2 cup of food at a time. I drink Protein shakes, eat greek yogurt, make fruit smoothies with Protein powders. Love chili & cheese. Love not having to diet. Lost 75 so far. Very happy. :)

I agree with you. The Drs. I have talked to and the info that can be found online state the capacity of the pouch is about 1/2 cup. From my own experience, 2cups of food at a meal would mean I have no restriction and the food is going right through the stoma and to the lower part of my stomach. I would not have had the success (100 lbs in 1 year) if I had kept my band that loose.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
