OMG! Gas pains are no joke...

Had surgery yesterday on 9/12 and the gas pains are no joke! I've never felt anything like it. It's crazy! I've walked and walked but I'm open to any suggestions!

girl, i know. they suck butt! try mylanta gas chewables or gas x, try walking alot, i went up and down stairs, used a heating pad on my shoulder, don't drink out of a straw.

hope it gets better soon.

Gas X worked for me and walking!

Walk and chew gum

The gas pains are worst than a colon resection

Once you start to eat soft foods they go away

Gas X cherry chewables and a hot Water bottle helped me feel like a real person again! I would have been miserable without them.

Congrats to you and good luck! :)

I'm day 6 and hurting....came back to work today and wishing I hadn't. I am trying my best to tough it out til 5 so I don't have to leave early and get in trouble.

Hang in there and know it gets better!!! When you get home, take some Gas-X and a pain pill and veg :)

Heating pad! It's the only thing that gave me any relief.

had surgery on 9/12 too. i feel the same way. the pains are horrible... is gas x safe to take to stop the gas? need to burp but cant? normal?

Very normal... Try grabbing the side of your bed or countertop and bend forward. That made my burps come up. Or leaning to the left... Not sure why this worked for me but it felt amazing to burp. Now, 6 weeks out, I burp constantly. :-/

Most miserable thing I have ever experiences. I hated that feeling. I thought for sure it would never end but on about day 13 I felt better and haven't had problems since. Nothing worked for me though.

I'm 21 days post op and still have gas pains! They're are horrible, no doubt about that!! I was in so much pain last night, I was literally in tears, it felt like I was having labor pains all through my mid-back area and abdomen. I take gas-x and it helps very little!! I'm calling my Dr. today. I have read a few posts from banders that said they had it removed because they couldn't find any other relief.

my gas pains were horrible but it lasted 5 0r 6 days. I ate gas x, took my liquid pain killer to dull the pain, i stretched my turso every house, I took deep breaths. Walking did just a little for me, but i did that too. I had a rotation of all of those.
