Question about crushed pills

Recommended Posts

As I said in an earlier post, I was banded on Thurs, Sept 8. How do those of you that crush your pills take them? I'm thinking just mix it with a spoonful of applesauce? I can't believe I haven't put more thought into the logistics of it before now. Also, is it normal to not want anything but Water?

Thanks!

Perfectly normal to just want Water. Listen to your body. You can put your crushed pills in applesauce, yogurt or pudding.< /p>

I just take mine crushed from a spoon with Water and it goes down quite well although the metformin is bitter tasting. I was told I can mix it in the Water but not all at once. and yes it is normal to just want water. I love my water and funny thing now is I don't like flavored water as much any more lol.

Make sure you're allowed to crush the pills you're taking.

Any time release or 24 hour pills CANNOT be crushed. Contact your pharmacist - not your Dr - to find out if it's safe.

It's also unlikely that you have any restriction right now so you should be perfectly safe taking any pills the size of a tic-tac or M&M. If in doubt, take one pill - have a hot cup of tea nearby - swallow the pill with some cool Water, wait. If it feels stuck, drink some tea.

I have no issues with taking over 12 pills at once including a large "horse pill" sized omega-3 and I'm in my green zone with restriction enough so that I can't eat bread, Pasta, rice, etc. and stay full for 4-5 hours between meals.

Even right after surgery I had no issues with my pills. I didn't want to take them but they were fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
