Today someone noticed I lost weight!!!

Recommended Posts

Today was the first day since starting this journey that someone who didn't know I had surgery and was losing weight asked me if I had lost weight. When I went to get my car from the valet (I have to valet park my car because the parking structure at work is so crowded that they have to constantly move cars around) the valet asked me if I had lost weight. I said "yes" and he said "I can tell". He asked me how much and I told him. He was like "wow". I was thrilled! It made me feel so good and that my hard work is paying off and that other people can see it. thumbup.gif

AWESOME! Congrats on your NSV :) It's always such a great feeling to have someone outside the lap band bubble see and comment on all our hard work :)

You definitely have lost a lot of weight!! It does feel so wonderful when someone notices and often those closest to us can't see it because they see us on a daily basis.

Whoo-hoo! Congratulations! The best compliments are from those who don't know your journey - the others are nice but I can 'write them off' as my friends trying to be supportive. You can't write this off, Girlfriend!

congratulations, doesn't it feel great! I had five people (yes, five, I counted them!) comment yesterday. I suspect it was more obvious because I had been away from work for five days. Enjoy the compliments and I hope they keep on coming for you.

Congratulations, Jeannette!!!! Keep up the great work! I'm just two weeks post surgery but have lost over half of my excess weight already (most of my weight was lost during my pre-op diet). I'm proud of you! Stay motivated - you're doing a great job!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
