Recommended Posts

I'm only a month out, won't get my first fill until next week but I average about 2 pounds per week.

I consider myself lucky so far...I have lost 17 lbs in the 14 days since surgery!!! I dont think this is typical though! And I know it will probably slow dramatically when I can eat "real food" again.

DAILY?? I dont go by daily weight loss it can be discouraging when the scale fluctuates so I only weigh 1 time a week and count that... I lose an average of 1-2lbs per week,...

I had my band put in March 1, 2011. I have not had any fills yet and I have lost just under 10 lbs per week. After my followup appt with my doctor I have been exercising for 1 hour everyday no matter what. I have a long journey ahead of me but it has been well worth it so far.

Recently my average has been 1 lb per week. It is kind of disappointing to me especially since I've been doing 6 kickboxing classes a week :(

Mine ranges anywhere from .2lbs-6lbs a week. Nowadays I am losing much less each week, but that's to be expected as I only have 6lbs left to lose. You will often lose quicker in the beginning and weight loss will slow as you have less to lose.

Men tend to lose faster, just like any other weightloss program. Other things will make a difference as well like your starting weight, how much you exercise, what types of food you eat, how tight your band is, drinking alcohol.......... If you start out at 400 pounds, your weightloss will be faster than someone who has only 70 pounds to take off.

I lost 100 pounds in the first year.

I agree with you on that! I am 8 almost 9mos post op and i am averaging 1-2 lbs per week! after the first few mos of being banded weightloss really tends to slow down. And that is perfectly normal.

Daily?!? Let's see, I'm 8 days past surgery so... 1.275 pounds a day. Yeah, I'm sure it'll keep up at that rate ;) LOL!

I am female and initially had about 90 pounds to lose. I am down 45 pounds since my surgery on February 11, 2011. My first fill was on 3/10 (3cc) and my second fill was on 4/15 (5cc). There have been weeks in between where I have lost nothing or one pound and there are other weeks where I have lost 4 or more pounds. Here is my journey so far:

Post Surgery:

2/11 - 2/18: I lost 16 pounds

2/19 - 3/10: I lost 11 pounds

3/10 - 4/15: I lost 14 pounds

4/15 - 4/20: I lost 4 pounds

I am sure the weight loss will probably slow down a bit and I am usually the rush-rush type, but as long as that scale keeps going in one direction, I am happy. Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
