How unsightly are the incisions?

Recommended Posts

Can I ask everyone whatthe long scar is? I thought originally that was the port-but now I don't think it is. Thanks for sharing everyone!

After my first band surgery, I nearly cried my incisions looks so gross. I had never had surgery before and was keeping this surgery a secret and the incisions freaked me right out.

I then had a few more surgeries and now my doctor and I can't find my incision scars, they are so light! It has only been 9 months since he last used those incisions ( unbanding rebanding and Lipo a few times) and even with them being cut many times they are still not noticeable at all.

Here is a post I made in Sept with some of my incisions. Things have even changed so much since then :)

hi all

i wanted to tell you that i ran across an article about surgical scars and the use of silicone strips to minimize them. did some research and a lot of people were saying that they helped tremendously so i bought some. i bought a brand called scaraway (there are others) on Amazon and after using them for 3 days i can already tell a difference! you have to wear them most of the time for a couple of months though, which is kind of a pain. they're about $30 for the supply you need. not cheap but may be worth it for some.

It's been 48 days since my surgery and I have 5 incisions. They are visible especially the port incision. They are not as bad as I envisioned and they seen to fade daily. My only issue is that the port incision feels sore at times, is this normal?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
