HEARTBURN? Anyone else have this problem?

Recommended Posts

I got .25 cc taken out of my band on Monday because it sometimes hurt to eat, and I would have heartburn and reflux some. I thought that would help my heartburn (it hurts right underneath my breasts I guess where the band is or could it be sour stomach?), but I am still having problems with it. I can eat so much better, and I can even eat a little more whereas I wasn't able to before I got the unfill. Does anyone else have heartburn issues or sour stomach issues?

It started this morning after I drank some of my Protein Shakes, and sometimes those do give me heartburn even before being banded.

You know.......if you drink a teaspoon of vinegar it is supposed to restore the proper acid balance to your stomach and cure heartburn......Think of it like a shot of tequila....and follow it with a sip of Tomato juice to kill the taste in your mouth!!! Also, my doctor has said to watch heartburn as it could be a sign of being filled too much, but since you had it before the band I would personally try the vinegar first :)

I have had reflux for over 20 years. I was taking Protonix before my surgery in May 2010. I was heartburn free for a few months then I started having sliming espisodes that irritated my stomach and back came the heartburn. I now keep the Protonix on hand and use as needed when it flares up. Tums didn't work and I wanted to make sure it was taken care of so I wasn't uncomfortable or miserable more than I needed to be. My surgeon is the one to suggest I go back on it as needed. I didn't get an unfill I just skipped the fill until my heartburn was under control. I got the Protonix filled again because I don't want to try and find something that might work. I know the Protonix works for me and I want a sure thing versus a maybe.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
