to fill or not to fill

Recommended Posts

I am 6 months post op and have had 4 fills. I have lost 46 pounds total. this last month I stopped losing. I have 9.5 cc in my 14 cc band. I eat a measured 2 cups of food at each meal. I find myself hungry about 2 hours later. does 2 cups sound like to much? I still hit the treadmill once a day for 30 - 60 minutes. I have recently had a few stuck o ccurrences that's why I am unsure if i need a fill. Please give me your input. Thanks in advance.

COngrads on the 46lbs!

- Are you getting enough Protein? (60+ a day?) If not that could def be a reason why you are hungry 2 hrs later.

- If you are getting enough Protein and still hungry 2 hrs later, then I would def go in for a fill. Should stay full about 4hrs after eating ideally. While some ppl can only eat 1/2 cup others can eat 2 cups. Most people (and the pouch is est. suppose to hold 1/2-1cup of food). 2 cups is a bit one the bigger portion side of things. Eating protein first, then veggies, then carbs might help cut back on how much you are eating. Also not eating "soft" foods the things that easily go down, so eating a baked chicken is more likely to fill you up quicker then ex. tuna salad. If your doing all things right, getting ennough protein, eating that first, and still eating the 2 cups and hungry 2 hrs later, then I would say its time for a fill. The fill will def help prolong the fullness and might restrict the amount you are eating.

- As for getting stuck, I know I sometimes forget to chew enough or eat to quickly adn that will cause it. Make sure to remember the basics (chew 30x wait minute between bites) Also some foods jus don't work with the band. S0 if you got stuck on foods like bread or starchy Pasta might be your band just telling you "Hey, I can't handle this food" and avoiding it in the future might be the way to go.

Hope this helps!

Keep up the great work

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
