Gluten Free

Hi,

I have a wheat/gluten allergy. Oddly, I didn't realize it until after I was banded. Bread/pastas didn't really go over well with my band anyway. But I'd try them when I had less restriction and realized that I felt horrrrrible after I ate them. So I stayed away and I feel so much better.

I actually have issues getting down "gluten free" foods such as gluten free pizza, et al. So really I just stay away with it for the most part.

If you need any suggestions or help or whatnot, feel free to send me a message. I've been banded for almost two years, so I'm very used to the band and the allergy!

I have a gluten intolerance and am getting banded 3/28. I am going to talk to the dietician this Wednesday about rice flour. I don't eat a lot of Gluten free breads anyway so I hope it's not an issue. I will let you know what she says. Congrats on your surgery.

Joleen

I have gluten sentitivity but I can't really eat breads or pastas with my band anyway. I stick with corn based starches such as corn tortillas, oatmeal, and potatoes for starches, but not much of those either. It's such a struggle for me to get in enough Protein and some vegetables and fruit that I usually don't have room for the starches.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
