Dripping, running, sniffiling, nose.

Recommended Posts

Last year, around May2010, I saw a Gastroenterologist for reflux. I asked her about the sore throat that never seamed to go away. When I told her that it felt like my nose was running down the back of my throat, she told me it was the opposite, that the acid was going up the Esophagus into the nasopharynx. Anyway, after reading so many folks saying that they know when they have had enough to eat when their noses start to run, I started to wonder if their pouch is over full and what is really happening is acid reflux. When my surgeon was doing my Lap Band he repaired my hiatal hernia. I am so happy that I no longer have reflux or heartburn or a sore throat!B)

The runny nose or stuffed up nose for me comes on when I've eaten too much. I know this, because it stops when I stop eating and stays away. It doesn't happen too often, but often enough to remind me when I've had enough.

I don't think I have reflux. I would think there would be more signs, like burning in the throat area or other things associated with reflux, which I have none of.

I've been experiencing this too. Especially, notice it after eating. I am still on stage 2 , so I'm not necessarily eating till I feel full. Everything just slides down right now anyway.

But, definately have the runny nose thing. What a strange side effect of being banded.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
